Tokyo-the largest city in the world!

Yesterday we took the train to the very busy neighborhood of Shinjuku, a very busy area of Tokyo.  According to Wikipedia, Shinjuku station is the busiest train station in the world. I believe it!

Just outside the station.

We headed to the Metropolitan Government Building to check out the observatory on the 45th floor.

Tokyo is a hopeful for the 2020 summer Olympics Games. The winner will be announced in a few days so there were lots of Olympic decorations everywhere.

The view from the observatory was absolutely breathtaking! Buildings in every direction, as far as the eye could see. Tokyo Bay is in the far horizon.

Mt. Fuji is also visible on a clear day with the mountains in the distance. No such luck today.

This was a great way to view the world’s largest city, and free!tokyo aerial view

We enjoyed wandering the streets on our way back to the train station.
