Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden

I have decided to start “Adventure Friday” with the girls. Every Friday we will go to a different area of Tokyo and explore (one of the many perks of homeschooling)! Today we went to Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden with some new friends. It was beautiful!

We saw a caterpillar ready to form its chrysalis. (You can see it dangling in Eva’s bangs).

A huge spider!

And, so much nature!

It was hard to believe this place was in the heart of Tokyo! This area was called the “mother and child’s forest”.

This was the Traditional Japanese Garden area.

We also went in a large greenhouse and saw many tropical plants. Bananas!

This was the “Avenue of Sycamore Trees”.

I guess I have never seen a sycamore tree. I loved the bark!

This grass was so thick and lush it felt like carpet. And so much of it, right in the heart of the city!

Cool! Adventure Friday sounds a lot like our Girls Day Out. We have lots of fun! I like that park!
